School Intranets - Examples |
|
The examples below are provided as 'idea-starters' for those interested in creating a curriculum-focused online environment within their school.
There are a number of examples below of web sites that could serve as a school Intranet....
- The Somewhere K-6 iWeb example below includes a template that you can download and modify for use in your school, if you have a traditional LAN-based Intranet, and access to Apple's iWeb software. Ideal for students and teachers publishing their own 'internal' websites.
- The WordPress sites are examples of a 'cloud'-based environment, and are able to be edited from any platform, using a web browser. You can download and install Wordpress on a local server if you have some technical expertise, or you can create a similar site on the free wordpress.com servers - although, technically speaking, this would no longer be a true 'Intranet'. Though it could easily serve the same purpose as an online 'gateway'.
- While Moodle and Edmodo aren't, strictly speaking, true 'Intranet' platforms, they can undertake a key role within a school Intranet. The relevant examples below might provide some ideas if you have these options available in your school.
